State police: 18 charged with unemployment fraud

The Rhode Island State Police said Friday that 18 people were arrested for fraudulently collecting unemployment benefits.
State police said together, the suspects collected $304,253 in unemployment benefits that they weren't entitled to. One individual collected about $38,000, state police said.
The 18 suspects were arraigned on a felony charge in Providence District Court and released on personal recognizance.
